The Voice Within
Disclaimer:
The insights and reflections shared in this blog come from my personal journey as a seeker of truth, healing, and spiritual understanding. I do not belong to or represent any specific religious group, sect, or institution. My intention is to explore and share wisdom that resonates from within, with an open heart and mind. Readers are encouraged to take what speaks to them and leave the rest.
An offering from one traveler to another, finding the way inward.
As we age, we tend to reflect on moments or times in our lives where we were courageous, or adventurous, fun-loving, passionate and compassionate. Sometimes we even speak the words “I miss that person,” or, “I miss who I was,” or, “I miss that part of me”. All those statements are a form of grief being voiced. Disconnect being expressed. And most of us - not on a spiritual awareness path - will let that moment pass and continue with what you were doing. What isn’t seen or understood is that something deep within you is pushing its way to the surface to be revealed. Where did that person go? In essence they are still standing or sitting in the very place you are, in this moment, reading this. A different version of you, perhaps, as you have weaved your way through life, but all still there. The incredible thing about the journey back to yourself, is that those glimmers of who you once were begin to ripple through-out your being. That feeling of connection begins to vibrate within, calling you to come home.
This journey should not be taken lightly and is not for the faint of heart. There will be moments when it feels like you are moving backwards, but I promise you, you are exactly where you are supposed to be. In those moments, you are still progressing, still moving forward - they just aren’t the leaps and bounds you were expecting of yourself. Because the healing is happening within. Changing cellular memories, changing neurons and creating new neuroplasticity - writing new programs that are healthier and more aligned with your authenticity. You are creating a shield of protection and understanding for the world around you.
I want to encourage you to heal. Those whispers you hear from within are your soul urging you to lay it all down. All the buried emotions. The weight of chaos. The quiet turmoil, the abuse, the neglect, the trauma - it is time. You feel the exhaustion and you continue to push through. Maybe not thriving - but still alive - and for you that has become acceptable. Making it through each day, has become your life.
Spiritual healing wasn’t something spoken outright in the parts I grew up in. Many would instantly dismiss it, claiming it was unsupported by their religion. But ask yourself: Does your religion not want you to heal? Could it be that the Divine wants something more for you than continued suffering? I promise you this: Your God wants you to heal. Because it is only from a pure foundation can we expect to spread and grow pure love. Unconditional love. That is what life is all about.
When was the last time you nourished your soul? Do you even know what your soul needs to thrive? Do you understand what your needs are - or are you even aware you have needs? I assure you, you do. And every day you operate on autopilot to meet them. Whether healthy or unhealthy, your unconscious mind doesn’t discriminate- only seeks fulfillment. It is your awareness that can guide the health of those strategies.
If religion is the standpoint of where you will refute these ideas, let me plant this seed: service.
How are you serving yourself and those around you for the greatest and highest good, if you are not truly serving yourself?
Luke 17:21 “Thy Kingdom of God is within you”. This speaks directly to the truth that God is not separate – to know yourself is to discover the Divine already within.
John 14:20 “I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.” A union, a Divine mirror. To know yourself is to recognize this holy interconnection: Yeshua* within you, and you within the Divine.
1 John 4:7-8 “Whoever loves has been born of God and knows God… because God is love.” When you love, unconditionally – including yourself – you know God, because you’re aligning with what God is.
Modern society, social media, the internet make it easy to condemn the man, instead of the actions. We have fallen away from the true teachings. The money flowing through the churches corrupts the environment. The inner struggle for power, rears its ugly head forcing followers to cower in fear. Our biggest fear has become our biggest struggle: the fear of losing love and connection.
Finding connection in the community of other like-minded people, the need to speak up is often silenced by the fear of losing that very connection. That truly is how the human mind works - a hierarchy of needs running our lives.
I will close today’s thoughts with a passage from the Gospel of Thomas (Gnostic), recording the teachings of Yeshua:
“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”
Therefore, to know yourself, is to love God.
*Author’s Note: Yeshua was the given name of the one the Christian Churches, now call Jesus. His given name was Yeshua Ben Yoseph, which literally translates to: Yeshua Son of Yoseph. In any of my writings, when referring to who the Christian society calls Jesus, I will always use his given name - the name they would have used to speak to or about Yeshua in his time of living on this earth. Yeshua was Hebrew, short for Yehoshua, meaning “Yahweh is salvation.” The New Testament was translated into Greek, where Yeshua became Iesous, because Greek lacks the “sh” sound and typically ends male names with “-s”. When the bible was translated into Latin, Iesous, became lesus. The letter J didn’t exist in English language as we know it today, before the 17th century. Before the J, it was a stylistic version of an “i” (use of lower case to easily distinguish the letter intent). Around the time of the King James Bible (1611), (J) began to be pronounced as a distinct consonant. That’s when Iesus in English texts shifted to Jesus with the modern Christian usage. Therefore; the name “Jesus” as it is spoken today, is the English evolution of Yeshua. Much like the telephone game we played as kids, Yeshua’s given name has been lost in the line of translation, Hebrew-Greek-Latin-English. The use of the name Jesus became common approximately 400 years ago. I won’t go into the history of how King James’ name evolved to the “J”, it isn’t relevant to this post. Feel free to rabbit hole.
